4 Signs Of A Dishwasher Gone Bad

Having a dishwasher in the home is one of the greatest conveniences. Rather than spending a ton of time rinsing, scrubbing, and drying your dishes by hand, your dishwasher does it all for you. That's why when your dishwasher stops working properly, it can majorly inconvenience the daily running of your household. Here are four signs that you need to hire someone right away either for the installation of a new dishwasher or repairs:

  1. Leaking Water: If there is water forming a puddle near the dishwasher when it's running, then there is a problem with the dishwasher you need fixed, especially since you don't want this leaking water to cause water damage anywhere in your home. Sometimes the problem could be as simple as needing to replace the rubber seal around the dishwasher's door frame. The best way to be sure is to call for an inspection.
  2. Not Cleaning the Dishes: Obviously, if the dishwasher is not cleaning the dishes, then you have a problem. However, you should first check that the problem is not your own. Be sure that the dishes are completely rinsed of loose food before putting them in the dishwasher. You should also run a cleaning cycle for your dishwasher before testing to see if the problem is still the same. If so, then it's at this point that you will need an inspection to be done.
  3. Clogging: You can easily tell if your dishwasher is clogged because when you go to get the dishes out, you will notice inches of water sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher. To fix this, you are going to want to call in the professionals right away. This way, the true source of the clog is found and removed/repaired.
  4. Not Turning On: Finally, the dishwasher might not be turning on at all. If this is the case, you might have to replace your dishwasher. Be sure to check your warranty to determine whether or not it's still in place and use it if it is to save yourself a lot of money on replacement costs.

Keep in mind that you should use your warranty no matter what, so always be sure that you check it and see what it covers, especially in the first few years of owning it. Doing this is the best way to ensure that you are not overspending while also ensuring that you are getting the repairs you are entitled to.
